Glassblower Job Description
Currently we are looking for a Full-time Glass Blower. Our studio is located in Hocking Hills, Ohio which is a beautiful state park region in Southern Ohio. We are an hour South of Columbus, Ohio. We are mainly a production studio, but are open to the public and do offer classes. We are looking for a glassblower who can share the responsibilities of teaching classes and work with the other glassblowers at production the rest of the time.
When teaching you will be responsible for working one on one with our customers and assisting them in making their paperweight or pumpkin. During production, you will be required to learn our line of pumpkins, ornaments, paperweights, garden art, vases, etc. We are open 7 days a week so you will be expected to work some weekends.
Qualified Applicants must have at least 2 years of glass-blowing experience. They must have references and photos of their body of work. We are looking for people that are friendly and are able to talk to the public. You must be able to work and get along with others. You must be able to accept criticism of your work and challenge yourself to learn our body of work. You must be responsible for your own transportation to work and dependable to work full-time during normal business hours.
Compensation includes:
$15.00 an hour plus piece rate on product made (averages $25-30 an hour depending on skill level)
Accrued Paid Time Off (PTO) after 6 month trial period
